Montenegro court set to decide on Do Kwon extradition... again

Do Kwon ’s constantly shifting extradition case is being sent back to the Montenegrin High Court where it will be determined whether an extradition policy formed in 1901 between the United States and the Kingdom of Serbia is still applicable. This is according to Montenegrin media. Montenegro wasn’t a part of the Kingdom of Serbia when the treaty was signed, but later unified with the country in 1918. Do Kwon appeal claims lawyers had 20 mins to review docs before hearing

In yet another appeal against his extradition, Do Kwon has accused a Montenegrin court of “bizarre interpretations” and failing to give his defense team access to important documents until 20 minutes before a Supreme Court hearing . Montenegro’s High Court approved Do’s extradition earlier this month before the country’s Minister of Justice was left to decide if he should be extradited to the United States or South Korea. Do’s team reportedly appeal ed against the High Court’s decision on Tuesday, calling it “unfounded and il Legal ” and claim ing that the court relied on “bizarre interpretations of the law,” specifically around international Legal assistance.
